Stop Tension Headaches in 2 minutes

Stop Tension Headaches in 2 minutes

Here a quick routine I use when at my desk to Stop Tension Headaches in 2 minutes A lot of clients I work with often talk about getting tension headaches while sitting at the desk for too long. I've been there too. It's very common for those with tension headaches and cervicogenic headaches. People often think it's sitting in a "bad" posture. But that's not really the true cause of a tension headaches. It's really due to the fact that you have been sitting too long in one position. We aren't meant to sit for long periods with minimal movements. This prolonged sitting leads to stress on the various structures of the neck become over stimulated and this can trigger a tension headache. So, here how to stop tension headaches in 2 minutes. I do this when I've been sitting too long at the computer and I want to take a few minutes to get everything moving again before a tension headache sets in. If you're able, a better option to avoid this type tension headache is to get up regularly. I usually suggest just go for a 5-10 minute walk, go get a cup of water (probably a good idea). But if you don't really have the time for that this is a good alternative. **This is not personalized medical advice. This content is intended as educational content. This one exercise can help you have fewer headaches

This one exercise can help you have fewer headaches is a protocol from Andersen et al. in 2011 (links below). This one exercise was found to help reduce headaches in office based workers when performed 5 days per week. The lateral raise was the one exercise used in both groups. Instructions: - stand in the middle of the band - arms at sides to start - raise arms to 90 degrees at the sides, slightly forward with elbows bend 5 degrees. - 2 second to raise, 2 seconds to lower The 2-minute exercise group performed 1 set of lateral raises until failure or 2 minutes. The 12-minute group performed 5-6 sets of 8-12 reps. Each set was started every other minute (0 min, 2, 4, 6, 8, 10) The programs were each performed 5 days per week for 10 weeks.
